From the administration side, the International Hockey Federation extends its thanks to the Atlanta Committee for the Olympic Games, and particularly to the hockey staff. No one person is more deserving of our gratitude than Competition Manager, Alva Serrette, who worked unfailingly for the success of the competition.
Thanks and recognition go also to the entire staff at both the Morris Brown College and Clark Atlanta University venues, and to the (truly!) countless volunteers. Special recognition must certainly be given to the United States Field Hockey Association for its kind hospitality as host Federation.
So having said thanks and so long to Atlanta, we now look forward to Sydney. The FIH has already begun its working relationship with Sydney 2000 Hockey Competition Manager, Ron Riley. A post-Olympic evaluation, including recommendations, has recently completed by FIH Executive Director Hans Bertels and his professional staff. It will be passed along to the Sydney Organising Committee for the Olympic Games to help aid the smooth and successful operation of the Sydney 2000 hockey competition.
