The FIH goes live on the Web
?
?? Hockey fans around the world took advantage of the new official FIH web site to keep up to speed with all the details of the recent men's Champions Trophy held in India. The FIH site went live on 3rd December, and in the first month, had more than 3,300 visitors. The majority of those -- approximately 2,500 -- accessed the site during the two-week period of the Champions Trophy, making it quite clear that hockey fans want results.

Activity has slowed recently, but should pick up again during the upcoming 9th Men's World Cup Qualifiers taking place in March in Malaysia. The daily results will again be provided on the FIH site.

In addition to daily results from major tournaments, visitors to the site can access the current calendar of world events, the latest FIH newsletter and press releases and listings of the world's hockey associations and administrators. Visitors to the site can expect standard quarterly updates (newsletter and President's message), monthly updates (calendar of events), daily updates during major tournaments and periodic results from other tournaments. Press releases will be added to the site the day they are issued.

The FIH web site was developed by the Dutch firm, Tam Tam, which was founded in early 1996 by former Olympic sailor, Paul Manuel, and his brother Bart Manuel. Since its establishement, the pair have been joined by Ron van Teylingen, also an Olympic sailor, who competed in Barce- lona and Atlanta. Tam Tam is based in Delft in the Neherlands.
