Belgium's Lycke appointed
interim FIH Hon. Treasurer
???? Robert Lycke of Belgium has been appointed as interim FIH Hon. Treasurer, to fill the role left vacant due to the recent death of Hon. Treasurer, Phil Appleyard (England).

Mr. Lycke will serve as Hon. Treasurer until the 1998 FIH Congress in May, at which time elections will be held for the post of Hon. Treasurer. The appointment was confirmed by the FIH Council during its meeting 25th September in Milton Keynes, England during the 6th Junior World Cup for men.

The 60-year-old Lycke, now retired, has more than 30 years experience in accounting, finance and all aspects of business administration. He served as Director General for companies in the food and textile industries before establishing his own import company.

A former national team member, Lycke represented Belgium in the 1960 Rome Olympic Games. He has more than 24 years experience in hockey administration in the Royal Belgian Hockey Federation, including 8 years as its President. He is also a current member of the FIH Council and Competitions Committee.
