Maurice Fraikin Passes Away

Maurice Fraikin (BEL) has died, aged 94 in Brussels.

Maurice was a valued contributor to several International Hockey Federation (FIH) committees from 1978 to 1996, including the FIH Council. He also served the European Hockey Federation (EHF) from 1969 to 1978, becoming EHF Vice President during 1978-9.

In 1984 he was awarded the FIH Order of Merit for his exceptional contribution to international hockey. Maurice was made Member of Honour of EHF in 1989.

FIH President, Juan Angel Calzado (ESP) paid tribute, ‘’Maurice was a committed servant to the FIH and an international ambassador for hockey. He will be greatly missed.’’
