10 Feb 2006 15:34

A 21-member visiting Afghan hockey team called on NWFP Governor Khalil-ur-Rehman at Governor’s House here on Tuesday morning.

The team is visiting Pakistan on the invitation of the Pakistan Hockey Federation and has toured to Attock, Havelian, Haripur, Abbottabad and Mardan.

The team is also scheduled to contest matches in Peshawar as well as Nowshera and Buner with the district hockey teams.

The Governor welcomed the visit of the team and offered his cooperation for promotion of the game in their country. The Governor said the visit of the Afghan team would prove helpful in bringing the brotherly people of both the countries closer to each other.
