Following the election of Leandro Negre as FIH President, former President Els van Breda Vriesman retired from all her sports functions. The IOC membership of Van Breda Vriesman has consequently ceased.

FIH Honorary President Van Breda Vriesman resigned as Member of the IOC Evaluation Commission 2016, the IOC Congress Committee 2022, the Council of the Association of Summer Olympic International Federations (ASOIF) as well as the Board of the International Masters Games Association (IMGA). Furthermore, she resigned as the President of the Foundation for the Promotion and Development of Hockey of the FIH.
