The Dutch women’s team won its first match under the leadership of the new coach Herman Kruis. Netherlands defeated USA 4-0 in the first of five matches to be played in San Diego, California.

The match lasted three periods of 25 minutes and Netherland dominated the first two parts of the match. Naomi van As and Marilyn Agliotti both scored once, while Vera Vorstenbosch scored the last two goals of the match.
