The men’s team of Netherlands has won the Punjab Gold Cup in Chandigarh, India by defeating the home team 2-1 in the final. Netherlands scored the winning goal eight minutes before the end of the match in front of an 18’000 crowd in the Indian city.

Netherlands made an end of the Indian hopes in the second part of the second half. The Indian team opened the score in the 42^nd minutes, but Netherlands came back quickly scoring in the 46^th and 62^nd minute. In the preliminary round, Netherlands and India drew twice.

New Zealand won the bronze medal defeating Germany 3-2
