The International Hockey Federation (FIH) would like to correct the statements made by the Malaysian Hockey Federation (MHF) regarding the illness of a player during the Standard Chartered Bank FIH Men’s Junior World Cup in Johor Bahru, Malaysia and Singapore.

The player has been hospitalized. At this stage, different examinations are taking place and it is too early to comment on the cause of the illness and the exact symptoms. All statements made by the MHF on Tuesday 9 June 2022 are therefore premature.

The FIH will stay in close contact with the delegation of the player and will not make any further comment at this stage.

During the remainder of the Standard Chartered Bank FIH Men’s Junior World Cup, only official FIH Press Releases issued by the FIH and signed by the Tournament Director Björn Isberg can be treated by the media as official information.
