FIH launches You Tube Video of the Week
23 Jul 2008 07:48

The International Hockey Federation (FIH) expanded its cooperation with You Tube. From today, the FIH website www.worldhockey.org will feature the ‘You Tube Clip of the Week’. Each week, the FIH will choose one user-generated hockey video as the clip of the week to be featured on the FIH home page.

Visitors of www.worldhockey.org can nominate their favorite clip by e-mailing the link to . The FIH Communications and Marketing Department will choose each week the best video. The first clip is online right now.

‘The You Tube Clip of the Week will give the young fans of hockey the possibility to have their favorite hockey video on the homepage of the FIH website’, FIH President Els van Breda Vriesman stated. ‘This gives the FIH another possibility for interaction with the numerous hockey fans. I certainly hope that many people will share their hockey videos with the entire hockey community.’

FIH is one of the first International Sports Federations with its own You Tube section. Matches from the WorldHockey Champions Trophy in Rotterdam (June 2008) and the ABN AMRO WorldHockey Magazine are online at www.youtube.com/worldhockey. The final of the WorldHockey Champions Trophy has already been watched by more than 11’000 visitors to You Tube.
