Scotland Junior Men to face French

Scotland’s Junior Men continue their European experience as they head to Paris this weekend for a training camp and three-match series against the French Under 21 squad.
National Under 21 coach Craig Parnham, National U21 has made a number of changes to the team who played against Belgium a fortnight ago.
Cameron Scott (Inverleith) and Tom McCulloch (Western Wildcats) are unavailable due to injury, while Stephen Dick (Inverleith) and Mike Christie (Kelburne) have been pulled from the Under 21 programme to concentrate on their senior squad commitments.
Joining the squad for France are Iain Scholefield (Kelburne), Dundee Wanderers' Ross Stott, and the youngest member of the squad at only 15 years of age, Kenny Bain (Kelburne).
"This is another good opportunity for us to look at our players. We have brought some younger players into the squad and this will give them good exposure at international level. We were pleased with the progress we made in Belgium and are looking forward to building on that in Paris,” Parnham said.
The last time the two teams met was at the Junior Celtic Cup in Aberdeen last summer when Scotland emerged victorious, going on to take the title. Both teams will play in the ‘B’ Division in Europe in the Junior Nations Cup in Gibraltar next year.
The matches against France will be played at the elite sports centre at Chatenay Malabry near Paris where the squad can take advantage of a top class hockey pitch, gymnasium and on-site accommodation.
The first of the three matches will be Friday, 27 May, at 4pm.
