A late Korean goal has denied the Kookaburras of a clean sweep of the three match test series played in Cairns, with the third and final game resulting in a two all draw.

As the Kookaburras successfully defeated Korea in the series' first two matches the third match was a dead rubber, with the Kookaburras already secured of claiming the series.

However both teams still entered the match looking for victory, eager to carry momentum into the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

The Kookaburras successfully controlled the tempo of the match in the first half, patiently working the ball through the midfield in a bid to maintain possession.

However despite the Kookaburras controlling the majority of the play early in the match it was Korea who struck first, continuing their solid penalty corner conversion rate despite the best efforts of Australian goalkeeper Stephen Lambert.

The Kookaburras soon regrouped, converting their own penalty corner only minutes later thanks to veteran Bevan George to level the match.

Once again controlling the tempo the Kookaburras continued to attack, with youngster Fergus Kavanagh looping the ball over the head of the outstretched keeper late in the half to hand the Kookaburras the lead for the first time in the match.

The second half was played at a much more controlled pace, with neither team able to mount many genuine shots on goal.

It appeared the Kookaburras would hang on for their third win of the series however a Korean field goal with just over a minute remaining once again leveled the score.

Australia – Korea 2-2 (2-1)
Goals - Kor Jang 18m PC, Aus George 28m PC, Aus Kavanagh 31m FG, Kor You 69m FG
