Singapore AHF/FIH Hockey Development Workshop October  17 -19 , 2002


Day 1, October 17, 2002

19.00h. Opening

19.10h. Facilitators (Tayyab Ikram , FIH Development Officer for Asia and Theo Ykema, Chairman FIH Development and Coaching Committee) and the participants introduce themselves (name/country, hockey background and professional background, present position/role in hockey, reasons to participate in this workshop) to the group.

19.40h. Theo: Hockey development. How do we see it ? NHA's role. How can FIH and AHF help?
Tayyab: additional remarks.Group: Q and A, discussion.

20.25h. Break.

20.45h. What see participants as important issues for the next two days?  Discussion facilitated by Tayyab and Theo. Conclusion: What the programme will be for day 2 and 3.

21.30h. End of today's session.

Day 2, October 18, 2002

09.00h. Tayyab: The hockey situation and the hockey development potential in Asia.

09.30h. 5 participants present in 7 minutes each the present hockey situation and the ideas and wishes for the future of hockey in their countries. Each presentation followed by 5 minutes Q and A.

10.30h. Break.

5 more participants make 7 minutes presentation. Each followed by 5 minutes Q&A.

Theo: short introduction 'Making a National Hockey Development Plan' (participants have received and read the relevant 'Guideline' before coming to Singapore). From this afternoon we'll work in small task forces, which will each make a basic analysis and hockey development plan for a chosen country. Now we are going to select those countries and form the task forces.

12..45h. Lunch break.

Task Forces meetings, Theo and Tayyab are available as consultants.

15.30h. Break.

15.50h. Task Force meetings continued.

Question hour (Whatever question participants would like to ask Tayyab and Theo).

18.00h. Dinner break.

20.00h. Task forces finalise their development  plan and appoint presenters for 15 minutes presentation of the plan on day 3.

21.00h. Social get together.

Day 3,  October 19, 2002

08.30h. One hour for Task Forces to finalise the preparation of their presentations. 

Presentation of plan 1 followed by 15 minutes discussion.

10.00h. Break.

10.15h. Presentations of plans 2 and 3, each  followed by 15 minutes discussion.

11.15h. Break.

11.30h. Presentations of plans 3 and 4, each followed by 15 minutes discussion.

12.30h. Lunch break.

14.00h. 'Jury' Fumio, Theo and Tayyab assesses the plans publicly.Participants give their opinions on the plans. Jury and participants vote (secretly) for the best plan.

15.00h. Break.

15.20h. Results of the voting.

15.35h. Question Hour.

16.15h. Evaluation of the workshop. Follow up at home and/or together?

16.45h. Closing.

18.00h. Dinner.
