Canada's good start of the new Junior hockeyseason.

Junior field hockey is Canada has enjoyed a typical start to the year. Indoor was played by juniors for the first few months of the year in major Canadian cities, and junior leagues typically exist, with some provinces, such as British Columbia, holding provincial championships for various age groups. A major indoor tournament took place in Toronto in January with many junior participants.

The main buzz in Canada over the next few months is the hosting of the Pan Am Cup in London, Ontario. Attempts are being made to have as many junior volunteers as possible, and some schools in the London area have agreed to send students to games as supporters. This idea was taken from the Indoor World Cup last year where it proved to be very successful. It not only creates a greater fan count, but helps to promote hockey to youth. Hosting the Pan Am Cup is a great opportunity to create awareness about field hockey and watching national teams play is an unbelievable way to encourage growth within our sport. This tournament is where Canada’s main focus resides at the present time.
