Youth Panel members present at the Men’s Pan Am Cup
During last May’s 2nd Men’s Pan American Cup in London, Canada, two Youth Panel members volunteered to help with the running of the event on their own initiative. They were Canada’s Leigh Sandison and Mexico’s Mario Rosado Fuentes.
Their main responsibility was to fill in the role as the announcers at the stadium, Leigh did the English and Mario did the Spanish. Throughout the two weeks, both Youth Panel members also helped in a number of areas, such as assisting the teams and the Tournament Director.
It was a great experience for both FIH Youth Panel Ambassadors and it proved that the Youth Panel in action is a great initiative by the FIH. And as Mr. John Green, President Field Hockey Canada said: “..it represents a transfer of learning to the next generation.”
