This month we start the countdown to the World Cups with profiles of the teams seeded 10-12 in Mönchengladbach and Madrid.

There are profiles on USA midfielder Lauren Powley and one of the Netherlands’ newest citizens, former Scotland international Laurence Docherty. Also, there’s a report on the African development forum and a tribute to Shankar Laxman, arguably India greatest ever goalkeeper from the 1950s and 1960s.

Finally, with the World Cups looming, we talk to Ken Read, the Australian who has been appointed as the Tournament Director for the men’s BDO Hockey World Cup.

Subscription to WorldHockey Online is free with the magazine delivered to your registered email address each month. Click here to subscribe.
