Scotland wins Women’s EuroHockey Nations Trophy 10 Sep 2007 07:24
Scotland became the surprising winner of the Women’s EuroHockey Nations Trophy. The Scottish team defeated Russia in the final (3-1) in Siauliai, Lithuania. Belgium won the bronze medal after defeating Belarus (4-1) in the classification match for the third position.
Both Scotland and finalist Russia are promoted to the EuroHockey Nations Championships in 2022. Russia, Belgium and Belarus are qualified for one of the WorldHockey Olympic Qualifiers, to be played early 2008.
