WorldHockey Youth Promoter’s Trophy 2008 back to Germany
03 May 2008 22:41

Nina Niedermeyer from Germany has been awarded with the title WorldHockey Youth Promoter 2008. Nina was selected out of 6 young hockey leader finalists, who made their hockey promotional presentation to an international jury including FIH vice president Tony von Ondarza, FIH & FHC Executive Board members and staff.

The final was the culmination of the 4th World Youth Hockey Promoters festival held at the University of Victoria in conjunction with WorldHockey Olympic Qualifier.

30 young ambassadors from 20 countries participated in a weeklong event where they made presentations on hockey development within their own National Associations and clubs and also attended youth leadership clinics, workshops and continental days.

The 6 young people that were invited to make their presentations to an international jury were:

  • Nina Niedermeyer – Germany
  • Rebecca Daniels – Wales
  • Amy Young – Ireland
  • Cara Eichenberger – USA
  • Carl Allen - Ireland
  • Chelsea Yogerst – USA

Nina’s winning presentation was outstanding and so was her capacity and creativeness to build a tournament with 1200 spectators from scratch.
Nina is a true ambassador for the development of our sport and fully justifies the aim of the Festival, “to Give Youth a Voice”.
