EHF Youth Coaches Seminar
01 Apr 2008 07:14

EHF Coaching Committee staged its annual Youth Coaches seminar over 4 days this Easter in Nijmegen, Netherlands. 24 coaches from 14 nations met to analyze matches between U18 Boys squads of Netherlands, Germany, England and Spain.

The group experienced 4 seasons in each day with unfortunately winter coming out on top. But this did not dampen the enthusiasm to learn from Head Conductor Siegfried Aikman (current coach of Tilburg HC and FIH Coach) and Assistant Conductor Tomislav Jamicic (head coach of Nijmegen HC Ladies) and also each other.

Each day had a new topic ranging from defensive skills, receiving skills, attacking skills and goal scoring skills. Small groups were given match analysis topics and then had to report back each evening to the rest of the group.

On the evening of day 3 the Dutch management teams gave the group an excellent presentation highlighting their current tactics and thinking

The Union HC Nijmegen did a wonderful job hosting the coaches and a big thank you goes to Gertie Karsten from Union HC and Carolijn Schreuder from KNHB for all their hard work behind the scenes.
