The International Hockey Federation (FIH) recently released the match schedule of the 2008 WorldHockey Champions Trophy men, to be played in Rotterdam, Netherlands from 21 until 29 June 2008.
The WorldHockey Champions Trophy will be the final test for the Olympic Games in Beijing. The teams of Australia, Korea, Netherlands and Spain already booked their ticket to the Chinese capital. World Champion and defending Champions Trophy Champion Germany, the fifth participant in Rotterdam, can earn an Olympic spot during the WorldHockey Olympic Qualifier in Japan, to be played from 5 until 13 April 2008. Argentina, the sixth participant, failed to qualify for the Olympic Games but will show spectacular hockey.
In conjunction with the WorldHockey Champions Trophy, the Dutch Hockey Federation (KNHB) will hold a women’s 4 Nations Invitational Tournament with Netherlands, Great Britain, India and South Africa participating.
