Germany back on top of the ABN AMRO Men’s World Ranking 10 Dec 2007 04:25
Winning the Samsung Champions Trophy in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on Sunday put Germany back on top of the ABN AMRO Men’s World Ranking. The World Champion lost the first position after finishing fourth at the European Nations Championships, but the win over Australia in the Samsung Champions Trophy final was enough to be back as leader.
Germany is ranked first with 1921 points. Samsung Champions Trophy runner-up Australia moved back to the second place and is only 23 points behind Germany. Netherland, bronze medalist at the Samsung Champions Trophy remains third, while Spain is ranked fourth.
England move up one place (to 8th) ahead of India (based upon Great Britain ranking at Samsung Champions Trophy – 17/20th of points awarded to England and 3/20th of points awarded to Scotland based upon there being 3 players from Scotland in the squad of 20 players). Points allocated to England from BDO Champions Challenge have been withdrawn.
