The Euro Hockey League is delighted to announce that Lille MHC of France will be the host club for Round 1b of the 2008/09 season. The Round, which features the teams drawn into Pools E, F, G and H, takes place between Friday 31st October and Sunday 2nd November.
The city of Lille is the principal city of the Lille Métropole, the fourth-largest metropolitan area in the country behind those of Paris, Lyon and Marseille. Lille is situated on the Deûle River, near France's border with Belgium, and is the capital of the Nord-Pas de Calais region.
There are some outstanding fixtures lined up in Round 1b, especially so for the host club. They have the difficult but exciting task of taking on 2007/08 EHL champions UHC Hamburg and the always impressive RC Polo de Barcelona, but will be boosted by the support of a passionate home crowd. See below for the full list of fixtures.
The Euro Hockey League is happy to have Lille MHC as the venue for Round 1b, and is very much looking forward to taking Europe’s elite club hockey tournament to Northern France. We are also delighted that the city is happy to receive our event, and we believe that the venue will make what is likely to be an excellent weekend of hockey even better.
