It wasn't quite business as usual on Friday 10 October as the EHF Executive Board welcomed Member Associations, the President of the FIH, the General Secretary of the NOC Belgium, EHF Members of Honour, Committee members, EHF partners and guests to 1-2 Avenue des Arts, Brussels for the official opening of the EHF's Head Quarters.
The building synonymous with hockey, has undergone a major refurbishment to ensure that hockey in Europe has an office for the day to day running of the EHFand in addition is available for Board and Committee meetings as well as Seminars and Courses.
The President of the EHF, Mr. Leandro Negre said that he hoped that this office would become "the home of hockey in Europe".
The FIH President, Mrs. Eis van Breda Vriesman, was delighted that the internal walls had come down, allowing the natural light to shine in the office, she was sure that European Hockey would have a bright future in this office. She expected the work of the EHF to go from strength to strength and be a marker for the other Continents to follow.
Mr.Guido de Bont, General Secretary of the Belgian Olympic Committee said that he was very pleased that the home of European Hockey was now in the very European city of Brussels. Belgians have always been proud of the association that they have with the administration of hockey.
