WHUB Umpiring Course opens in Yangon (MYA)

The WHUB Umpiring Course was opened successfully this morning, 16 October 2008, in Yangon (MYA). The President of the Myanmar Hockey Federation and a representative from the Myanmar Olympic Committee attended the opening ceremony. The MHF President gave the opening address and the Course Conductor, Mr. Faiz Muhammad (PAK), also gave an introductory speech.

The Course will run for 4 days from 16 to 19 October 2008, and is being staged in conjunction with the MHF President’s Men’s Trophy Hockey Tournament which starts on 18 October 2008. Attending the Umpiring Course are 30 participants and 10 observers, who will spend two days in the classroom and then have a further two days observing the umpiring skills they have learnt being put into practice in the Tournament.
