Y-O-Y DAY 2004.
27 May 2004

In Barbados, we celebrated YOY day with children throughout the World. Our numbers were depleted as many students were preparing for local and external examinations. At the hockey headquarters, those who attended had lunch on the mound with the trees providing shade from the sun. We then went to Brandons beach, where we experimented with beach hockey, a feature we want to improve on later in the year. In Barbados, beach cricket, football and volleyball are played.

Around the island, various youth took part in their local practice sessions. What is really heartening to see some of the local teachers who recently took part in the local Coaching Course conducted by Argentinean Master CoachRodolfo Mendoza in action. National coach Ralph Watson supervises Over 35 Children of the neighbouring high school and their teacher, recently trained; each Saturday to further enhanced their skills. The Cuban coach attached the Sports Council also assists.

The accompanying pictures depict what occurred on YOY day.
