11 June 2004

The idea for the 2004 Hockey Marathon was to play hockey in all the cities from Romanian at hockey clubs, especially the children’s between U.8 - U.14 to increase the number of young players. So on May 15th - 16th 2004 in Radauti, Targu Mures, Odorheiu Secuiesc, Sfantu Gheorghe, Bucharest and two new cities: Galati and Onesti the event was organized.
Aim was to popularize the hockey in schools, to the people that live in the cities and also for all the parents to attract new young players. The school and the parents are a very big factor in the hockey development.
Approx. 180 young players + 350-400 spectators took part in these events. In Radauti approx. 60 young players (boys and girls) played in a mini hockey tournament. In Targu Mures the thunder tournament of the junior team was held. In Odorheiu Secuiesc  26 children’s participated in a special class of hockey and a demonstrative games of the boys & girls U.18 team was played.
