New Zealand National Junior Girls Hockey Competition 2004 at Porrit Park Christchurch
1 December 2004.

New Zealand has over 10,000 registered junior girls Hockey Players. Of that 400 Girls were selected to represent each of the 26 provinces of New Zealand to compete for the coveted 'Collier Trophy' in 2004.

This annual competition started in 1964 and has been played annually. It is an intensive weeklong tournament with each team vying for the trophy.

This year the competition was hosted by Canterbury, who haven’t had that honour in the past 12 years. The tournament was a huge success and the final was a classic Auckland vs. Canterbury clash with Canterbury winning 2-1.

Final placing:

  • Canterbury - Winner Collier Trophy
  • Auckland - second
  • Waikato -third
  • South Canterbury - fourth
