Goalkeeper Amy Tran is a two-time FIH All Star and won the 'Goalkeeper of the Tournament' at the 2006 World Cup in Madrid as she helped the USA's achieve a best ever sixth place finish.

She debuted in 2001 against Japan in the Korea Cup and graduated from the University of North Carolina in Speech Therapy, Hearing and Communications one year later.

Tran says she only began playing hockey because it was the only autumn sport on offer at Northern Lebanon High School, Pennsylvania.

She lists fellow NCU graduate Michael Jordan as her sporting idol and her sister Katy was also a goalkeeper for NCU and represented the USA at junior level.
