Gender:            Male
Height:             192 cm

The son of farming parents from rural Western Australia, defender Bevan George, lists winning gold at the 2004 Athens Olympics and playing his 100th international match as the highlights of his sporting career to date. Known variously to his teammates as 'Jethro', 'Boof' and 'Cob', he is a keen golfer and enjoys watching Aussie Rules football and cricket.

Having suffered from a serious back problem in 2005 which put him out of action for four months, he has been working on getting faster. fitter and stronger for the 2008 Olympics in Beijing ever since.

An admirer of Australian sporting legends Pat Rafter (tennis) and John Eales (rugby union), he rates German player Christopher Zeller as his toughest opponent. Once he has finished his hockey career with Australia and domestic club WA Thundersticks, he plans to take over the family farm in Cuballing, east of Perth.
