Born in Madrid, Maria Jesus Rosa is a brave and athletic shot stopper who is capable of making strings of brilliant saves. She won a European Championship silver medal in 2003 and was outstanding as Spain finished fourth at the 2006 World Cup hosted in her home city.

A nominee for FIH 'Young Player of the Year' in 2002 she was named 'Goalkeeper of the Tournament' at the 2007 World Indoor Cup where Spain finished second.

She plays club hockey for San Pablo Valdeluz 51 in Madrid.
