Crista CULLEN

Country:          Great Britain
Date of Birth: 20 August 1985
Gender:            Female
Position:          Defender

Born in Boston in England, Crista Cullen took up the game of hockey as a nine-year-old in Kenya where she spent the first 12 years of her life.

An athletic, feisty and totally committed defender, she made her international debut for England against Scotland in 2002 and played in her first major tournament at the 2003 Champions Trophy where Great Britain finished fifth.

She is a business studies graduate from Nottingham Trent University and a penalty corner specialist who plays club hockey for Leicester. With serious motivation and an unyielding attitude on the pitch, this 22-year-old looks likely to be a top class player for some years to come.

Known variously as 'Crystal', 'Tarzan' and 'Xena Warrior Princess', she comes from a sporting family - her father played on the European golf tour, her mother played professional squash and her brother Gray Cullen played junior level rugby for England.
