Veteran goalkeeper Guus Vogels is a two-time Olympic gold medallist from Atlanta and Sydney, and as shown by his 'Best Goalkeeper' award at the 2007 Champions Trophy, is still displaying FIH All Star form between the posts for the Netherlands.

Born in Naaldwjik, near the port of Rotterdam, he had won Olympic and Champions Trophy titles before the end of his international debut year in 1996, and five more Champions Trophy titles have followed.

Known as 'Birdman', Vogels has studied mechanical engineering in The Hague and enjoys playing golf, tennis, surfing and snowboarding.
