Egypt defeated Belgium 4-2 in the first of five Test matches in Cairo as both teams prepare for the World Cup Qualifier.

The match was a great spectacle which demonstrated the technical and tactical development of both teams.

Egypt scored its first goal in the 7th minute by Sameh Metwally through a penalty corner before Mahmoud El Gendy doubled their lead in the 40th minute.

With the match under control, Egypt added their third goal by through Mahmoud El Hady in the 53th minute to lead 3-0, before Belgium stepped up their play to bring the score to 3-1 two minutes later after Jerome Truyens’ goal.

Belgium continued to push forward and drew to within one soon after (57th minute) as Philippe Goldberg knocked in pass to reduce the deficit to 3-2.

However Karim secured the victory for Egypt in the 62nd minute with a field goal to give the home team a positive result in the first of five matches.
