Egypt surprises again in Lanzhou tournament
31 May 2007 12:32

The men’s team of Egypt surprised again in the Four Nations Invitational Tournament in Lanzhou, China. The Egyptians achieved a draw against tournament favorite Japan (1-1) after Egypt already took a point against China (2-2) on the opening day of the event in China.

Egypt took the lead in the 30th minute by a field goal of Mohamed Sameh. It even looked like Egypt would take the full three points home, but Japanese Kenichi Katayama scored the equalizer with only four minutes to play.

In other second day action, host China took an easy 8-1 victory over USA.

The Lanzhou Four Nations Invitational Tournament will continue on Saturday with the last two preliminary round robin matches scheduled. The event will come to a conclusion on Sunday.
