Egypt 1 drew Belgium 1 Goals: EGY - Sameh Metwaly PC 10m; BEL - Maxime Lucyx PC 60m
Egyption Hockey Federation: The five-Test series between Egypt and Belgium is evenly poised after the teams battled to a 1-1 draw in the third match in Cairo overnight.
Belgium started brightly and controlled possession without making it count in clear goal scoring opportunities.
However, it was Egypt who got the initial breakthrough 10 minutes into the match with Sameh Metwaly using his strong drag flick after a series of attacks on the Belgium goalkeeper.
Egypt led 1-0 at the break and the second half started with the tempo stretching both defences.
Maxime Lucyx saved his team with a well-taken penalty corner in the 60th minute to secure the draw for Belgium.
With two matches remaining, the series is tied at 1-1. The fourth Test will be played today, Thursday 26 January.
