Worldwide overview of supplying synthetic hockey pitches and lighting in new FIH project 17 Apr 2007 09:07
The International Hockey Federation (FIH) is embarking on a project which will offer its member countries more assistance when purchasing pitches and lighting. The new approach will help the member countries to benefit from standardised purchasing and contracting procedures and from economies of scale.
Kirkman Company from Netherlands has recently signed an agreement with the FIH and will assist in the implementation of the project in its capacity of World Hockey Knowledge Provider.
This first project in which Kirkman and the FIH will work together is intended to result in:
- specimen contracts for pitches and lighting for use by national hockey associations and other hockey facility owners
- a worldwide survey of suppliers of pitches and lighting
- a long list of suppliers (who is able to supply what types of pitches/lighting in which countries, and at what price and quality)
- an annual update of the long list
Kirkman Company is an independent management consultancy that specialises in Strategic Sourcing: helping organisations find the right balance between doing activities themselves, outsourcing activities to third parties or arranging them in other collaborative structures such as alliances, mergers and acquisitions. Kirkman Company employs forty-five staff and has its main office in Baarn, Netherlands. Kirkman Company is not a newcomer to hockey, as the Dutch based company is also sponsor of the Dutch Hockey Association (KNHB).
Sharing the passion to perform at the very highest level, Kirkman Company and the FIH look forward to their successful partnership.
