During the General Assembly of the Association of Summer Olympic International Federations (ASOIF) in Beijing, China, FIH President Els van Breda Vriesman was re-elected as member of the ASOIF Council.

Els van Breda Vriesman was already member of the ASOIF Council for the last four years and was re-elected for another four year mandate. The FIH President already reached the necessary number of votes in the first round of the election. More rounds were necessary to elect the other ASOIF Council members: Hassan Moustafa, President of the International Handball Federation (IHF) and Bruno Grandi, President of the International Gymnastic Federation (FIG). They were elected out of 11 candidates.
