It is anticipated that the next Rules of Hockey and Rules of Indoor Hockey will take effect from 1 June 2022.

Until new sets of rules are published and implemented, the 2007-2008 rules continue to apply.

What changes there will be in 2022 is still under discussion within the FIH.   The Hockey Rules Board has already undertaken a significant review of the Rules of Indoor Hockey.  At its meeting in November 2008, it will finalise any proposals for changes to the rules for outdoor hockey.
