Australia back in business at Samsung Champions Trophy

Australia is back in business at the Samsung Champions Trophy in Sydney, Australia after the home team defeated England 4-0. In other Thursday action, Argentina and Netherlands ended at a 2-2 draw.

For Australia, the match against England was crucial. The Hockeyroos had to win to keep the chances open reaching Sunday’s final. Australia did what it had to do and defeated England 4-0.

In the other Thursday match, tournament leader Argentina drew with Olympic and World Champion Netherland 2-2.

With one round to play in the preliminary phase of the Samsung Champions Trophy, Argentina is sure of playing the final. Netherlands, Australia and Germany also have a chance of making it to the final. With Australia-Netherlands and Argentina-Germany scheduled on Saturday, these two matches will make the decision who will play in Sunday’s final.
