India defeats Germany in Junior event

India had an easy win over the world champions Germany by exhibiting their skill with ball possession and control with a score reading 5-1. India's Head coach A.K . Bansal observed that the he never expected his boys to win by this whooping margin.

India played according to their game plans laid by team's management headed by Merwyn 

Fernandes, former Olympian. The spectators had to move to the second pitch to witness this match which left the main stadium empty.

The Germans didn't have any clue on apply ing breaks on the fast pace of Indian for wards who were seen every where.   It was very heartening to see these young Indians dominating the whole seventy minutes right from the whistle.

Lalit Upadhyay , the 14 years old youngster from Uttar Pradesh in North India who scored the goal of the day , which was his first in his career in an international event here at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil . Sreejesh , the Indian custodian continued to exhibit his strong agility in pad ding away all the shots fired at him by Germans shooters.

Diwakar Ram scored two goals to increase his tally to eight to remain on top among the scorers. A brief spell of rain in the first half didn't do any damage to the match progress. The spectators count was thin due to the Thaipoosam, a Hindu religious festival.

India overtook Germans and Dutch with four points to remain the leader in the race for the title. In the other match Pakistan lost to Australians 6-4, New Zealand beat Korea 5-4 and Netherlands pushed Malaysia to the bottom of the pool with a 4-0 win in the last match of the day.
