Overwhelming response for Rotterdam coaching course 27 May 2005 08:24
FIH had an overwhelming response to the High Performance Coaching Course in Rotterdam from 3-10 July this in Rotterdam.
Forty applicants were received from around the world, with 33 of those approved as participants and six as observers.
The course will coincide with the men’s Rabobank Hockey Junior World Cup and feature seven of the world’s most respected coaches.
Organised by the International Hockey Federation and the Royal Netherlands Hockey Bond (KNHB), the course will be conducted by FIH Master Coaches Maurits Hendricks and Tayyab Ikram. Hendriks is the current coach of the Spanish men’s team and was the gold medal-winning coach of the Netherlands men’s team at the 2000 Olympic Games. Ikram is the FIH Coaching Manager and is a former coach of the Pakistan men’s team and China.
Arno den Hartog from Netherlands, member FIH Development and Coaching Committee Working Group Coaching and deputy director of KNHB will be the Course Director.
Besides the course conductors, the following FIH Master Coaches will also make presentations:
· Barry Dancer – Gold medal-winning coach of the Australian men’s team at the 2004 Olympic Games
· Bernhard Peters – Gold medal-winning coach of German men’s team at the 2002 World Cup
· Paul Lissek – Olympic gold medal-winning coach from Germany
· Roelant Oltmans – Gold medal-winning coach of the Netherlands men’s team at the 1996 Olympic
Games and current Dutch coach
· Marc Lammers – Silver medal-winning coach of the Netherlands women’s team at the 2004 Olympic Games
